Oleoresins are a naturally occurring combination of oil and resin that can be extracted from plant leaves or roots. They are semi-solid high concentrated substances.
The extraction process starts with cleaned raw spices, then the spices' oils are distilled using an organic solvent.
For different plants different methods of extraction are necessary.
Oleoresins are extracted by solvent extraction or supercritical fluid extraction process. The common ways to extract are steam distillation (through water, oil, and alcohol) and vary in the level of concentration.
